I was gifted a small deerskin called distressed antique, and it was aptly named. The grain was worked over and it was rough, but not cracking or flaking or anything that would undermine its purpose as a cover. But I only had enough for one. I wish I could have gotten more, it was a fantastic leather to work with and made for an incredibly unique Bible. It features an exaggerated yapp, way more than a full yapp. It has a forest green lambskin liner and hand-stitched edges in a matching green thread.

The weight of the text block, a single column CSB, was matched well with the durability of the deerskin. This Bible will age so beautiful the more the reader holds it.

I may not have this particular leather available any longer, but I certainly loved the yapp size especially on this thicker text block.
