I was gifted a small deerskin called distressed antique, and it was aptly named. The grain was worked over and it was rough, but not cracking or flaking or anything that would undermine its purpose as a cover. But I only had enough for one. This ESV Creeds & Confessions Bible was originally a hardback with gold pages edges. It was a beautifully elegant Bible in that state. This is also an example of one of my earliest works. I wanted to experiment with deerskin as a viable cover option and turned to this naturally raw color. The forest green liner contrasted with the tanner color of the cover wonderfully.
